History
60 Years of Educational Excellence
Christopher Columbus High School has always fostered three distinct traditions: the pursuit of academic excellence, the heritage of Catholic education, and the unique spirit and mission of the Marist Brothers.
Our school opened in 1958 with just two and a half buildings and an enrollment of approximately 150 students. The Marist Brothers assumed the direction of the school in 1959, under the leadership of Principal Br. Benedict.
Throughout the years the school expanded, adding new buildings, facilities and programs. Known for excellence in every field, and with an enrollment of 1,700 students and over 14,750 alumni, today Christopher Columbus High School is a model for Catholic schools all over the country.

Brotherhood, Faith, and Scholarship define the Marist Brothers Catholic education at Christopher Columbus High School. By making Jesus Christ known and loved and creating an inspiring academic and extracurricular environment, we prepare young men for higher learning and a life-long commitment to leadership and service through Gospel and Marist values.
Columbus is fully accredited by Cognia and is a member of the Marist Association of Secondary schools, the National Catholic Education Association and the Independent Schools of South Florida.
