Columbus Swim & Dive Team Makes Waves at Regionals

Last week, the Columbus Swim and Dive team competed in a challenging two-day regional meet, capping off a season filled with weekly meets, weekend invitationals, and newly scheduled events.

Their hard work and dedication have paid off, with several members now advancing to the state meet in Ocala this weekend.

Lucas Franchak earned a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke, securing his spot in the next 16 at-large for the state with an impressive time of 59.50. The 200 Medley Relay team, comprised of team captain Michael Grenier, Mathias Orlandini, Lucas Franchak, and David Guerra, has also been named an alternate for the state competition.

For the first time in years, a Columbus diver has qualified for the state meet. Sophomore Gianmarco La Neve placed third in regionals, achieving a qualifying score of 352.90 and earning his place at the state level.

Please join us in congratulating these young men on an outstanding season, and wish those advancing to state good luck as they represent Columbus!
