Special Olympics Event at Marlins Park
Despite the rain and storm concerns, the Special Olympics event at LoanDepot Park, in collaboration with Marlins Impact, was a resounding success!
When Special Olympics South Florida urgently needed volunteers, our students stepped up—36 volunteers, with 30 from Columbus. Even during Quarterly Week, with teacher permission, our boys showed up to make a difference.
The Special Olympics staff was thrilled, noting how smoothly the event ran thanks to the extra manpower. They were especially impressed by our boys' energy, enthusiasm, and genuine respect toward the participants. It speaks volumes about our school’s dedication to serving others with compassion.
Special shoutout to our CCNN team, who documented the event to ensure the story of this inspiring day is shared! We’re proud of our Explorers for embodying brotherhood and community spirit.
Brotherhood, Faith, and Scholarship define the Marist Brothers Catholic education at Christopher Columbus High School. By making Jesus Christ known and loved and creating an inspiring academic and extracurricular environment, we prepare young men for higher learning and a life-long commitment to leadership and service through Gospel and Marist values.
Columbus is fully accredited by Cognia and is a member of the Marist Association of Secondary schools, the National Catholic Education Association and the Independent Schools of South Florida.
