Explorers Dominate Track & Field Regional Championships

Last night, the Columbus Explorers showcased their athletic prowess at the Regional Championships held at the Ansin Sports Complex.

In an outstanding display of talent and determination, the boys' team secured a resounding victory with a total of 168.50 points.

Several athletes delivered standout performances, earning themselves a ticket to the state championship. Among the notable achievements:
  • Shaddai Carter claimed 1st place in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump events.
  • Gianluca Padilla showcased his strength with 2nd place finishes in Discus and Shot Put.
  • Remington Goins and Anthony Perez excelled in Javelin, clinching 1st and 2nd place respectively.
  • The 4x800 relay team, comprising Alexander Lopez, Anthony Scarcello, Lucas Gonzalez, and Mario Suerias, secured 1st place.
  • Durian Moss showcased his speed, finishing 1st in the 100m race and 2nd in the 200m.
  • Jancent Wallace demonstrated his versatility with 2nd place finishes in the 400m and as part of the 4x400 relay team.
These exceptional athletes will now advance to the state championship, scheduled for May 18th at the University of North Florida.
