LINK Club and Columbus Varsity Baseball Host 3rd Annual Special Olympics Softball Clinic
Last week, the LINK Club, in collaboration with Columbus Varsity Baseball, proudly hosted the third annual Special Olympics Softball Clinic for the incredible athletes of Great Heights Academy.
The day was filled with exciting activities such as throwing, catching, batting, and running bases — but the real highlight was the celebration of teamwork, learning, and inclusion. The event embodied the true essence of community by lifting each other up, recognizing every achievement, and making sure that everyone felt included.
This remarkable day was a genuine expression of the Marist spirit, showing how we can make a difference when we come together.
We extend our sincere thanks to the administration for supporting these enriching experiences, which help our students grow beyond the classroom and into the community. Special appreciation goes to the faculty for making accommodations that ensured full participation by all students. A big thank you to our maintenance team for assisting with the setup and to Mrs. Smith for generously allowing the use of the lobby for lunch.
We are especially grateful to Coach Webber, who first initiated this collaboration three years ago, and to Mr. Casals for overseeing the baseball activities. Lastly, our heartfelt thanks to Brother Al for leading the post-service reflection and consistently supporting the LINK Club's mission.
The event was a shining example of the power of inclusion and the Marist commitment to service.
