The Columbus Robotics Club offers students the opportunity to learn how to design and build technologically amazing robots and enter these robots in competitions. Robotics is not only fun and exciting; it is a multi-disciplinary course of studies that encompasses many areas of education. Students involved in this club will use math and science skills and will work in an environment that mirrors real world business. Students will have to deal with budgets, weight restrictions, time management, engineering documentation and create spreadsheets and power point presentations. Team members will receive their training from CCHS alumnus, Mr. Bill Garcia, Director of Starbot, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving young people the opportunity, experience, and confidence needed to help them pursue rewarding careers in science and engineering. Students will work together with scientists and engineers from local businesses and universitites and will compete in national engineering contests.

The CCHS Robotics Team placed in the TOP 5 in the nation (15 LB Division) at the Battlebots/Bots IQ National Robotics Competition in California.   Congratulations to Seniors, Michael Bustamante, Alex Irastorza, Christian Rodriguez and Andres Valcarcel on their performance with their robot, SENIORITIS.  They also won 2nd place in the 2009 Youth Fair Robot Documentation Competition.
